Two tables compiled by the Bureau of Statistics, Treasury Department, listing the number and tonnage of vessels in foreign trade entering the port of New York for all years 1879 to 1888. The tables are broken into summaries for ships entered and ships cleared, and divided into steam and sailing ships. The table can be found on pages 18 and 19.
Unique variables include the number of ships, tonnage of ships, whether ships entered or were cleared, and whether the ships were steam or sail types.
