Complete New York Philharmonic Subscribers Database: 1883-1997

A dataset that contains the names, addresses, and seat locations for Philharmonic subscribers transcribed from subscriber books containing names and addresses. The data are provided in three files, one for 1883 to 1907, another for 1953 to 1980, and a third for 1997. The first two datasets are similarly structured and could be used to look at attendance and audience characteristics over time. Personal names are not included for the later time periods.

Unique variables include venue seat location and location of subscriber’s entry in original volume.
